192,000 Square Foot Facility |
We occupy one of Akron’s oldest aviation structures. The hangar is known as Building E. During the 1940s, the 192,000-square-foot facility was built to meet the military demands of World War II.
Corsair fighter planes were manufactured here. Right next door is one of Ohio’s largest structures (and a striking aerial landmark), once home to the Goodyear Blimp. The cavernous domed hangar is currently being renovated to support additional aviation-based work conducted by Lockheed Martin. |
